Disney created more than 50 animated feature movies. Most of them are awesome, remind of pleasant childhood moments, and evoke sweet memories. Some films, however, seem to be a bad joke Disney played on the audience. Here is my list of 10 Disastrous Disney movies.
8. The Aristocats
This movie has a terrible title and boring plot. An alley cat has to protect kittens and their mother on the way to Paris. What a dull idea! Even for the 1970s, it was not up to much. This is the last picture Walt Disney approved by himself. How could he do that? The film is a complete disappointment.
7. The Rescuers
Yes, the 1970s were not the best for the company. In fact, five films produced at that period constitute a half of this list. Maybe, rough times is the reason for using unoriginal ideas. The characters are creepy, and the voice of Bob Newhart doesn’t soften this negative impression.
6. The Great Mouse Detective
“The Great Disappointment” would be a better title for this film! As a kid, I loved all Great Mouse Detective themed items I had but hated the movie. There is nothing more boring for kids than a mystery! If Disney had considered this fact, there wouldn’t have been this ridiculous movie.
5. Treasure Planet
This is the most forgettable movie of all Disney ever produced. Its creators, the authors of The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, spoiled the captivating plot of Stevenson’s Treasure Island. Thankfully, Disney redeemed itself by producing a few masterpieces later.
4. The Fox and the Hound
I hate this movie for its predictability. I know it is for children, but it is too obvious even to them! Besides, the cast for voicing is terrible. Mickey Rooney is an outstanding actor, but his voice simply didn’t fit the character.
3. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
It seems there’s a distinctive pattern Disney follows. The company takes an awesome story, adds a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with the original, and creates a distorted film. Some of the movies are good, but The Hunchback of Notre Dame is not the case.
2. Lilo and Stitch
Honestly, I haven’t watched it until the end. Perhaps, I should not judge the film without watching it entirely. However, doesn’t the fact that I simply could not finish it prove that the picture is a failure? The movie is unsuccessful because Stitch is unbearably annoying.

1. Atlantis: The Lost Empire
Disney came up with an awesome idea and then spoilt it. The film had a potential to become iconic but lacked the memorable story and characters. An amazing cast had nothing to work on. With this movie, Disney didn’t manage to reach own standards.
If you love the magic that Disney films bring to your life, do not watch those in the list above. It would have a glass shattering effect making you realize that something you adore is far from being perfect. Do not ruin Disney beauty for yourself.
